Ingredients: |

Combine custard powder
with 1/4 cup of milk and form into a smooth paste.

Boil remaining milk.

Add paste to heated milk
and stir until thick.

Remove
from heat.
-
Add
vanilla essence.
-
Serve
custard alone or pour over cake, fruit etc.

BAKED CUSTARD |

1 egg
-
3 drops of vanilla
-
1 tablespoon of sugar
-
1 cup of milk
-
Note:
Most fruits in season can be
used to make fruit salad.

Wash fruit and peel fruit.
-
Chop fruit into bite size pieces.
-
Place chopped fruit in a large and gently
mix.
-
Eat immediately.
-
Optional extras - icecream, cream,
yoghurt or custard poured on top of the fruit can be delicious.

CREAMED RICE |

Ingredients: |

1 tablespoon of sugar
-
nutmeg
|
|
-
Pour water into a large
saucepan and bring water to the boil.
-
Reduce heat and add rice.
-
Cook rice until the water
has absorbed (stir regularly).
-
Add milk
and stir.
-
Add sugar
and margarine and stir.
-
Stir
continually until mixture boils.
-
Reduce
heat and cook for 30 minutes.
-
Sprinkle
with nutmeg.

RICE CUSTARD |

Ingredients: |

2 tablespoons of rice
-
1/4 cup of water
-
3 eggs
-
3 teaspoons of sugar
-
1/3 cup of milk
-
nutmeg
|

-
Wash rice with water.
-
Cooked rice until tender.
-
Beat eggs in a large bowl.
-
Add milk and sugar.
-
Stir in cooked rice.
-
Put mixture in a greased oven dish.
-
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
-
Bake in a moderate oven until rice
custard is set.

APPLE CRUMBLE |

|
Ingredients: |

Method: |

-
400g tin of cooked apples
-
60g melted butter
-
1/2 cup rolled oats
-
1/4 cup plain flour
-
1/2 cup brown sugar
-
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
-
pinch of cinnamon
-
ice-cream or custard optional
|

-
Open tin of apples and spread apple in a
shallow microwave proof pie dish.
-
Mix dry ingredients together in a large
bowl.
-
Melt butter and add to dry ingredients.
-
Spread evenly on top of apples.
-
Cook in microwave for approximately 5
minutes.
-
Remove from microwave and allow to cool
slightly.
-
Serve alone or with ice-cream or custard.
